For the six days between sessions.
Coupleship is a shared room where a couple talks with one AI guide, grounded in the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy. You can recommend it to clients who want somewhere to practise between appointments. You will never see what they write, and we will never ask you to.
What your clients get
- A shared room with a guide that remembers both of them
- A private line each, which the other partner never sees
- One question a day, sealed until they have both answered
- A relationship profile written from their own answers
For couples it is $39/mo, one subscription for both of them, and the first week is free with no card. Pricing
What you’ll never see
-
A dashboard of your clients
No panel, no transcripts, no summaries. What a couple writes stays with the couple. If they want to bring something into session, they bring it themselves.
-
A referral fee
We pay nothing for recommendations. Your professional ethics rule it out, and your clients should never have to wonder why you suggested something.
-
A request for client data
You send us no names, no notes, nothing. Couples sign up on their own, with their own email.
-
A claim to replace you
It is not therapy, and it tells your clients so. It is built for the ordinary evenings, not for the work you do.
Two ways to bring it in
Give them your code
We make you a personal link that takes 10% off your clients’ subscription for as long as they keep it. They sign up and pay for themselves. The only thing you ever learn from us is how many couples used it, never who.
Make it part of your care
Buy access for a number of couples at $29 per couple a month, and include it in what you offer. Each couple redeems a code without a card. When their months run out, the room pauses exactly as it does after a free week: nothing is charged, and everything they wrote stays readable.
Or simply mention it
Neither is required. The first week is free for anyone, with no card.
When not to recommend it
Violence or coercive control
A shared space can be turned into one more way to watch or pressure someone. If you suspect either, please do not send the couple here.
Acute risk or crisis
If either partner may harm themselves or is in acute distress, a person is the right place. The guide is built to notice this, speak only to that person, and point them to help, but it is not a safety plan.
Under 18
Coupleship is for adults only, and asks at sign-up.
Questions clinicians ask
- Is this AI therapy?
- No. There is no clinician behind it, no diagnosis and no treatment plan, and it says so to the people using it. It works from Gottman and EFT the way a good workbook does: it helps a couple practise what you are teaching, at the hour they actually need it.
- Will it contradict what we are doing in session?
- It does not diagnose, label either partner, take sides, or tell anyone whether to stay. If a couple tells the guide in their shared room what they are working on with you, it keeps that in its running note of the relationship and carries it forward.
- Can I see how my clients are doing?
- No, by design. There is no clinician view. If a couple wants you to see something, they can show you.
- What about each partner’s private line?
- It never reaches the other partner in any form, and it never enters the guide’s context while it is talking to them.
- Does this create a privacy obligation for my practice?
- You never send us anything about a client, and we never send you anything about them. Couples use Coupleship as a consumer app under its own privacy policy. Tell them that plainly when you recommend it.
- Where does what they write go?
- To our AI provider, solely to generate the guide’s replies. It is not used to train third-party models, and it is never shown to another couple. The detail is in our privacy policy.
- What if only one partner is willing?
- It works from the first night with one person. Their partner can join later, or not at all, and the guide never chases them.
- What happens if someone signals risk?
- The normal flow stops, the reply goes only to that person on their private line, and they are shown where to get help. That is never behind a paywall, whether or not anyone has paid.
- Is there evidence it works?
- Not the kind you would want. There has been no clinical trial, and we make no outcome claims. What we can show you is the method it follows, the rules it keeps, and the product itself.
- Are you affiliated with the Gottman Institute?
- No. Coupleship is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Gottman Institute or ICEEFT. The guide is instructed with their published methods.
- What languages does it work in?
- The site is in English. The guide answers in the language each person writes in, and it has been tested most in English.
- Can I try it first?
- Please do. Write to us and we will set you up to try it, with a partner or on your own.
Tell us about your practice.
We are starting with a small group of couples therapists. Write a line about who you see and how you work, and the founder replies personally.
