Privacy policy

Coupleship helps couples reflect together. Because the things you share here are personal, we treat your data with care. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Account details (your name and email), what you write in your onboarding and your messages in your shared space and on your private line, and basic usage events (such as when you sign up or complete a check-in). Payment is handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your card details.
How we use it
To run the service: to generate your relationship profile and the syntheses your guide writes, to send the emails you’ve chosen, and to improve reliability. Your responses are sent to our AI provider solely to generate your summaries; they are not used to train third-party models.
So your guide can answer what you actually need, a separate model run by Cloudflare reads your recent messages in that conversation before each reply and returns a few signals, such as whether you asked for help or whether something you said was heavy. It writes nothing to you. Those signals are kept with your messages, are never shown to your partner, and are deleted with your messages.
What stays private
Your private notes are never shown to your partner, only used to inform the guidance you see. Your partner never sees what you wrote until you’ve answered too. Data from a past relationship is never shared with a new partner.
Sharing
We share data only with the providers that run Coupleship (hosting, email, AI processing, and payments), each bound to protect it. We do not sell your data.
To measure our advertising, we use tools from Google, Meta and Reddit. They receive the pages you visit, whether you stay to read them, and the moment you sign up, never what you write. So that a sign-up can be matched to the ad that led to it, Reddit also receives a hashed (one-way, unreadable) version of your email address, not the address itself. Our server also tells Reddit about your sign-up directly, with that hash, a hashed account number, your IP address, your browser type, Reddit's cookie ID and the Reddit ad you clicked, if any.
Your choices
You can update notification preferences or unsubscribe at any time, and you can end a relationship to archive its data. You may request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. If you’re in the EU/UK, you have rights under the GDPR including access, correction, deletion, and portability.
Retention and security
We keep your data while your account is active and delete or anonymize it on request. We use reasonable technical measures to protect it, though no service can promise perfect security.
Not a medical service
Coupleship is a supportive software tool, not therapy or a medical service, and not for emergencies. If you’re in crisis, please see our support resources.
